Biography/Details

Dr. Kihlstrom graduated from Stanford University and earned a master’s degree and doctorate in physics there. He joined the °µÍø±¬ÁÏapp faculty in 1984. He has worked as a research physicist at Superconducting Technologies Inc. doing temperature-dependent microwave measurements on superconducting filters. He was also a visiting researcher at Conductus Inc. where he focused on research on SQUID magnetometers and digital superconducting electronics. As a research associate at the Naval Research Laboratory, he established a superconducting tunneling program and UHV sputtering of superconductors. He has won the Faculty Research Award at °µÍø±¬ÁÏapp and the Teacher of the Year Award in Natural and Behavioral Sciences three times.
