Incarnatio Center Programs & Events
Incarnatio provides a retreat space, develops programming and cultivates curricular and co-curricular partnerships. The center’s offerings include: spiritual direction; Capax Dei small-group development; resident chaplain student leadership program; support for Augustinian Scholar and chapel programs; and formational opportunities for students, faculty, staff and small group leaders.
Resident Chaplains (RC's) work alongside various student leader positions and serve students by “cultivating a transformative community of Christ-centered apprenticeship” by: modeling personal and spiritual development; supporting and promoting campus spiritual formation activities; and providing opportunities for spiritual growth in residence halls.

Spiritual direction is a practice of listening, with a companion, for the voice and movement of God in your life. The Martin Institute's Incarnatio Center provides a limited number of spiritual direction grants for faculty, staff and students who are interested.
Why might I meet with a spiritual director?
- To listen for God’s Spirit and direction in your life
- To be encouraged by a supportive companion
- To wrestle with questions (about God, faith, identity, etc.)
- To learn to pay to attention to the movement of God in your life in an intentional way
- To discern God’s guidance in a season of transition or discernment

Capax Dei (“Space for God”) spiritual formation groups meet weekly in a variety of locations both on- and off-campus. Led by faculty, staff and alumni, Capax Dei groups foster a deeper walk with God through prayer and reflection on Scripture, and provide an introduction to the classical spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. Examples of groups include “Lectio Divina,” “Evensong,” and “Praying Through the Psalms.”
