A Year of app Pictures on the iPad

Enjoy splendid photography and get a sense of life at app through a new iPad app. In “2011: A Year in Pictures” the college highlights key events with a series of stunning images by app photographer M. Bradley Elliott. Optimized for the retina display of the latest iPad, the pictorial essay works well on all three iPad versions. To view it, download the free app magazine at Apple’s App Store. The “Year in Pictures” appears as one of the issues, and you may install it as well as the four magazine issues available on the iPad.

“‘The Year in Pictures’ communicates the life, joy and hope that students experience at app,” says Reed Sheard, vice president for college advancement and chief information officer. “It brings people far away close to campus. Images capture life in unique and powerful ways, and we’re blessed to have a world-class photographer on our staff who has depicted the app experience so beautifully.” The college already publishes its quarterly magazine on the iPad (available through Apple’s App Store) and plans to create “The Year in Pictures” annually. The photo essay will eventually appear on the app website, with a link on the home page, .

A app iPhone app features college news, events on campus, all issues of the app magazine, live streaming of selected athletic events and other useful information.

“We recognize the growing popularity of mobile devices such as the iPad and iPhone and want to take full advantage of these platforms,” Sheard says. “We think our native iPhone and iPad apps and ‘The Year in Pictures’ put us on the leading edge of this technology.”
