6th Annual Luncheon
Before a sold-out audience, app awarded David and Anna Grotenhuis the inaugural app Lady Leslie Ridley-Tree Spirit of Santa Barbara Award at the annual Women’s Leadership Luncheon on April 21, 2023, in the college’s Global Leadership Center.
The award recognizes people who exemplify the life and spirit of Lady Ridley-Tree, whose generosity made a profound impact on app and touched the lives of many people and organizations throughout the Santa Barbara community.
Lupita Knittel, president of 7Mindset, an education technology company, encouraged the audience to pursue great causes with passion and excellence.
Since 2015, app has invited business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from the local area to attend the luncheon that focuses on celebrating women and educating, enriching, and empowering them.
The event is sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Council, chaired by Denice Fellows, former chair of the app Foundation. The council amplifies the work of the foundation by specifically partnering with women who are established in business and industry, providing mentorship and scholarships to app’s female students.
“This valuable support can help women at app prepare educationally and vocationally to lead and serve in all spheres of society,” says President Gayle D. Beebe.
