°µÍø±¬ÁÏapp Celebrates 80th at Homecoming

°µÍø±¬ÁÏapp celebrates its 80th anniversary by hosting a variety of events at , Oct. 13-Oct. 15, including °µÍø±¬ÁÏapp’s 80th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at Fess Parker’s DoubleTree Resort, 633 E Cabrillo Boulevard in Santa Barbara. The special festivities begin in the outside rotunda and move inside the grand ballroom for dinner and a program to . The Young Alumni and Student Dance follows at 9:30 p.m. Tickets to the anniversary celebration, which are separate from Homecoming, cost $50 per person and must be purchased in advance. Registration at ends Oct. 6. Tickets are expected to sell out.

The celebration features President Gayle D. Beebe telling an inspiring story about Roger Voskuyl, the college’s third president. The °µÍø±¬ÁÏapp Jazz Band plays during the outdoor reception, and alumnus David Britton ’94 performs as well as the Chamber Singers during dinner.

The Young Alumni Association invites all alumni and current junior and senior students to attend the outdoor dance, which is included in the anniversary celebration registration or $10 at the door.

Other Homecoming events include the dedication of the Global Leadership Center, faculty lectures for alumni by , associate professor of global studies and kinesiology, and , professor of communication studies, All-Alumni Barbecue Lunch, Kid’s Fair, Young Alumni Tailgate, men’s and women’s soccer games, chapel service with alumnus ’75, and the All-Alumni Worship Celebration featuring , who will retire at the end of the academic year.
