The summer camp season comes to end at app with Discovery Camp’s exciting cardboard boat races Friday, July 29, at 1:15 p.m. at the app pool. The 5th to 8th grade students will create boats using only cardboard boxes, scissors and duct tape. Beginning at 1:15 p.m. they will attempt to safely paddle across the pool.
During the unique one-week camp, campers explored biology, physics, chemistry and engineering. They became CIA agents solving a crime, assembled rockets for takeoff and met reptiles.
ThinkCamps were launched by the Gaede Institute for the Liberal Arts at app five summers ago. “Think Camps are designed to encourage students to continue to explore areas of interest outside of the classroom, whether that be art, graphic design, creative writing, theater, science or foreign language,” says Diana Small, ThinkCamps coordinator.
