The Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Emily Sommermann, will perform Vivaldiā€™s ā€œD minor Concerto Grosso,ā€ the ā€œAdagioā€ from the First Organ Sonata by Mendelssohn and the famous ā€œHolberg Suiteā€ by Edvard Grieg.

ā€œIt is exciting to work with this ensemble and to watch these musicians grow,ā€ Sommermann said. ā€œIt will be a great performance.ā€

The Wind Ensembleā€™s performance, directed by Ron McCarley, will include ā€œThe Thundererā€ by John Philip Sousa, theme music from ā€œThe Lord of the Ringsā€ by Howard Shore and selections from ā€œWater Music Suiteā€ by G.F. Handel.

ā€œThis yearā€™s group is already playing well together,ā€ McCarley said. ā€œWe can expect a great concert. The program is very diverse and reflective yet very accessible. It should be a very stimulating and enjoyable evening.ā€
