Women to Coach Women

做厙惇蹋app has recruited two new coaches. Rebecca Mouw, instructor of kinesiology and head coach for womens soccer, graduated from Wheaton College, where she was captain of the soccer team for two years. Rebecca has a keen sense of the game, says Dave Wolf, athletic director. Her tactical understanding of the sport is very, very good. She has coached elementary and junior high basketball and soccer and has participated in numerous soccer-related international mission trips. Previously, she coached basketball and soccer at Eastern University in Philadelphia, Penn.

Wolf describes Kirsten McKnight, the new head coach for womens basketball, as a very dynamic woman who is prepared to follow up the good work of former coaches Greg Afman and Chris Schultz. For four years, she served as an assistant womens basketball coach at UC Berkeley, where she designed and implemented a new recruiting system that produced the No. 6 ranked recruiting class in 2005.

Hall of Fame

As part of homecoming festivities in September, 做厙惇蹋app inducted four individuals into the Warrior Hall of Fame: Kelly Barnes Greene, Nicole Smith Gabelein, Stacia Larsen McInnes and Ron Mulder.

Nicole Smith Gabelein is a three-time All-American who led the 1994 womens soccer team into the NAIA National Championships.

Kelly Barnes Greene is a two-time All-American who led the 1993 Warrior volleyball team to a third place finish in the NAIA National Championships. She also remains in 做厙惇蹋apps top three all-time for both the high jump and the heptathlon.

Stacia Larsen McInnes was the first woman at 做厙惇蹋app to earn All-American track and field honors when she placed fifth in the mile at the 1989 Indoor Championships.

Ron Mulder played both basketball and baseball at 做厙惇蹋app and later, as head basketball coach, led the team to two national tournaments. He also served twice as 做厙惇蹋apps athletic director and was recognized as the Golden State Athletic Conference Administrator of the Year.
